Communications Coordinator - Full-Time
As the Liberty Township Communications Coordinator you will be responsible for identifying communication needs of the Township and developing and implementing an effective communication strategy to facilitate both internal employee communications and external communications. Work involves direct communication and interaction with Township staff, Trustees, the general public and other governmental entities. Responsibilities include managing the Township website and social media channels, preparing a variety of print and electronic content. Prepares Township newsletter for internal and external outreach. Develops and implements communications strategies to reach the public and enhance the public image of the Township. Provides communications for media and special events and prepares needed press releases. This position will act as the primary spokesperson for the Township, including in emergency and crises situations. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or public administration or related field or equivalent in years of service. Parks & Road Services Worker - Full-Time
As a Liberty Township Parks & Road Services Worker, you help provide well maintained, safe roadways and a beautiful, clean park system to residents and visitors. You will drive pick-up trucks, dump trucks, tractors and other large equipment and use zero-turn mowers, push mowers, chainsaws and many other common powered and hand outdoor tools and equipment. If you enjoy being outside and get satisfaction from seeing a job well done, then this is the job for you! Most of your day will be spent on our 96+ miles of roadway and in our 400+ acres of parks and greenspace. To succeed in this position, you must be able to operate large trucks and equipment, use chain saws to cut down and trim trees, be skilled on riding mowers and in using all sorts of lawn and yard equipment and enjoy a fun, outdoor environment. A CDL is required.

Zoning & Planning Officer - Full-Time
In this position, you will work with residents, developers and business owners to fairly administer the zoning code. Our Zoning Office reviews the plans and permit applications for new developments, homes, building additions and land use - it is a great way to see what is going on in the community. With Liberty Township being one of the fastest growing and highest income communities in Ohio, our zoning office stays very busy! We strive to work with residents and builders to maintain the community as family friendly with a thriving restaurant, retail and business culture. On a typical day, you may drive around the Township to inspect new home sites and building additions or meet with homeowners, developers or builders to review plans and help them reach their building goals.
To succeed in this role, you must have a high attention to detail, be able to communicate in a professional and friendly manner and be able to interpret rules and regulations to identify items that don’t comply with the code. You may do inspections outside, so it is important that you enjoy being outside and aren’t worried about getting your feet a bit dirty. The ideal candidate is able to set and maintain efficient schedules, balance field work with office work and enjoy a team environment. The full-time position works between 32 and 40 hours per week, depending on workload and staff schedules, with a few evening meetings each month. A valid state of Ohio Drivers’ License is required. Experience or education in planning, development or code compliance and an understanding of zoning is preferred, but it is most important that you have the ability to interpret and apply rules and that you are able to communicate and interact with our residents and business owners in a professionally and ethically.

Firefighter/Paramedic and Firefighter/EMT - Part-time
Liberty Township Fire Department is seeking part-time Firefighter/Paramedic positions. These positions are responsible for the performance of specialized duties primarily in emergency response and mitigation efforts to save lives and protect property. Duties will include, but are not limited to, firefighting and rescue, paramedic work, operating engine, ladder truck, ambulance and other vehicles and equipment/property maintenance on an assigned shift. Applications must include a valid State of Ohio Firefighter II certification card and appropriate Paramedic or EMT certification. Shifts are 24 hours and this position pays $18.50 per hour for Firefighter/Paramedic and $17.25 per hour for Firefighter/EMT.
