Residential Knox Box Loaner Program
Overview
Residential Knox Boxes are secure, heavy-duty key boxes designed to provide firefighters and paramedics with immediate access to entry keys for a residence. These boxes can be installed over a resident’s entry door and are accessible only by the Liberty Township Fire Department.
Benefits
The Knox Box system allows emergency responders to enter your home without waiting for a key holder or causing damage by forcing entry. This program is ideal for Liberty Township residents who anticipate frequent medical calls and may be unable to answer the door.
Terms of Use
- The loaner program is intended for short-term use, approximately six months.
- The Knox Box remains the property of the Liberty Township Fire Department and must be returned when no longer needed.
- If a medical condition or situation is determined to be long-term (exceeding six months), residents may purchase a Residential Knox Box through the Knox Company at KNOXBOX.COM
How to Request a Knox Box
- Contact the Liberty Township Fire Prevention Bureau at 740-938-2027.
- Fill out a loaner request form and return to Fire Prevention
- The request will be reviewed.
- Fire Prevention Bureau personnel will visit the residence to determine the best installation location.

Residents who do not meet the criteria may purchase a Residential Knox Box from KNOXBOX.COM
Select OHIO then Liberty Twp/Powell as the jurisdiction.
