Fire pits/Outdoor fireplace are permitted in Liberty Township and the City of Powell. They need to be 15 feet from combustible materials, this includes houses, decks, playsets etc.. When burning wood in the fire pit, use only dry seasoned firewood with a maximum wood stack  2 feet high and a width of 3 feet. Make sure the fire is never left unattended. Keep children and pets a safe distance away, and have a hose or fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergency.

As a courtesy, it may be wise to notify neighbors that you will be burning in your fire pit in the event that they smell smoke or see flames.
